IS THE TAN THRU SWIMSUIT RANGE SEE THROUGH?

Cooltan tan through swimwear is guaranteed not to be see through when worn wet or dry. This remarkable feature is achieved with Cooltan's unique prints which create swimsuits that sport a unique blends of colours. This blend of contrasting colours create a guaranteed optical inability for the human eye to see past these prints when the suit is worn. 

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO ACHIEVE AN ALL OVER TAN?

This depends on your skin's ability to produce Melanin which is the pigment that darkens when human skin is exposed to sunlight. This is a gradual process, and continuous tanning also ensures a longer lasting tan. To achieve an all over tan it is recommended that you use a SPF lotion of 6 (or higher as needed) on your skin for the areas not covered by the suit. When in the sun, the SPF lotion together with the tan thru swimsuit's built in SPF filtration of UV will result in an all over tan.

HOW DOES THE TAN THRU SWIMSUIT WORK?

Cooltan swimsuits are made of a unique patented fabric, and the use of special knitting technology creates thousands of micro-pores in the fabric. These micro-pores act as a shade cloth, and filter approximately half the sun's light. This filtering process is comparable to a SPF 6 sunscreen, so you will never be risking unprotected exposure to the sun.  

IS THE FABRIC SEE THROUGH?

Although the swimwear is made of a lightweight fabric with micro-pores
 it's not see-through when worn.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SUNBURN THROUGH THE SWIMSUIT?

It would take a rather prolonged exposure on a summer day to get a sunburn. The key to a great all over golden tan is moderation. Over-exposure to the sun will not help you achieve a lasting tan, so we won't recommend a rush approach. Planning your tan for summer, will help you achieve that lasting tan you are after. 

No person will achieve a lasting tan using a short burst approach, and we all know sun burn can spoil your summer vacation. So start your summer tan by tanning for shorter periods at first and then gradually increase the time you spend in the sun while. Use a good SPF lotion, and re-apply sun tan lotion to your skin after swimming.
